Another Beginning’s End…. Ask to end the next beginning.

We (the U.S.) worked with many to pave the way to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden.  We invested in, weaponized and trained nations and tribes over the last 10 years.  In the 1980’s (and the 30+ years prior) the U.S. invested in, weaponized and trained nations and tribes to pave the way to defeat Soviet Russia.  When Soviet Russia fell, we celebrated the end of the Cold War.  We moved on.  We abandoned many of those we supported to oppose the Soviets.   Some of those we abandoned went rogue.   Today, the United States celebrates the demise of one of those rogues, Osama Bin Laden.   This is not first time we found ourselves with a military mission to overtake a person or group we once supported.

Let us honor the lives of those lost over the last 10 years.  Let’s honor them with wisdom.  We can move on and orphan those who supported our efforts to eliminate our enemy.  Or we can ask our elected officials to manage the relationships we created along the way.

Ask your officials to mitigate the emergence of the next rogue threat.

Instead of another beginning’s end, maybe we can end the next beginning.
